These Spicy Garlic Roasted Chickpeas are a healthy, savory, crunchy snack. They’re packed full of protein and will satisfy your salt craving.
One of my all time favorite snacks are Corn Nuts. Those overprocessed, salty, crunchy little delicacies make my heart go pitter patter. They are the one thing I always grab at the gas station before leaving for a road trip, and I’m ashamed to say that I have stashed bags in my purse because I didn’t want anyone else eating them.
Many moons ago, I posted a recipe for Dill Roasted Chickpeas, and since then I have tried at least 10-15 flavor combinations. I have become a Roasted Chickpea addict. I guess it’s better than buying Corn Nuts by the semi-truck load. These satisfy my craving, and because they are so easy and quick to make, I’m not even tempted by store bought crunchy snacks anymore.
You can create any flavor of roasted chickpeas you can think of. I’m sure, somewhere on the internet, there are chocolate chickpeas and probably even cinnamon roll chickpeas. I don’t know this for a fact, but chickpeas are so versatile that I wouldn’t put it past some of the food blogger masterminds out there.
This recipe for spicy garlic roasted chickpeas is one of my current favorites. I’ve always had a passion for anything garlicky, and this pregnancy has really got me in the mood for spicy foods. I think I’ve polished off two or three bottles of hot sauce in a matter of a few months. Hot sauce on baby carrots, hot sauce on salad, and hot sauce to dip my french fries in. It sounds strange… it is strange, but it’s good. Try it!
