We are only a few weeks out from Halloween, which means it’s time to start baking lots of yummy party treats with candy corn and mini chocolate bars. I am a HUGE sucker for candy corn. I get it from my momma.
It’s also time to start shopping for Halloween costumes if you haven’t yet. I’m not passing any judgment. I’m notorious for waiting until the last second to buy costumes. Don’t wait! You can check out my list of Nickelodeon Inspired Halloween Costumes for Toddlers for Under $30. Does your kid love Paw Patrol or Dora? Check it out. The prices are reasonable and your kid will be thrilled that they don’t have to be a pumpkin because it was the only costume left in the store. Yep, that was me for the last two years. Oops.
It seems like most people either love candy corn or absolutely despise it. For those of you who choose to bypass this seasonal candy, I feel bad for you. You are missing out on an abundance of yumminess. I seriously urge you to try this recipe. It may give you second thoughts about candy corn.
This recipe for Halloween Party Snack Mix takes only ten minutes to throw together and another hour to cool, and then it’s ready to be devoured. What else, you ask? Well, there’s minimal cleanup. If you are using something like a Pyrex Glass measuring cup that holds 2-4 cups, you will only be washing one measuring cup, a bowl, and a spatula. That’s my kind of dessert cleanup.
First, you melt the vanilla chips in a large microwave-safe bowl for about 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds or so. After you have smooth, melted candy, you start pouring in all of your add-ins. We’re talking crushed pretzels, cinnamon Chex, Cheerios, honey roasted peanuts, Reese’s Pieces, and of course… candy corn. Stir it all up so it’s evenly coated, and voila. You now have a sweet and salty treat that will wow everyone.
