I’ve been so busy making Christmas treats like this Easy English Toffee, fudge, and cookies that I’m always in the kitchen, even in my dreams. Come Christmas day, when all of the family is gathered around and the cookies have been picked through and the kids are laughing and playing, the last thing I’ll want to do is head to the kitchen to make a big complicated holiday brunch. But, that doesn’t mean I’m not going to wow my in-laws with something memorable.
BLTs are a classic brunch/lunch food, and french toast is one of the best breakfasts around (maybe I’m being biased). Why not combine the two for a simple, savory, flavorful sandwich? Typically, a BLT is served on grilled toast; it has a bit of a crunch to it and granted, it’s yummy, but once you try a BLT served on french toast, you won’t want to go back.
This French Toast BLT makes a perfect brunch for Christmas or New Years. It’s got a fun, not too serious appeal, and as long as you have a decent sized skillet, you won’t have to spend hours in the kitchen. You will be able to make brunch and hurry back to entertain, enjoy the holiday buzz, and make memories.
The step-by-step process to making these is so quick and easy that it’s only going to take me four short sentences to explain. 1). Cook your bacon to your desired doneness. 2). Beat together your half and half and eggs. 3). Dip and fry your bread. 4). Assemble and plate your sandwiches.
Told ya! Easy-peasy and sure to be pleasing! Boy, that was cheesy 😉
What’s the first beverage you think of when you hear brunch? Orange juice, no doubt! In our house, there is only one option when it comes to orange juice: Simply Orange Juice.
It’s never concentrated, never sweetened, never frozen, and it tastes delicious. Simply Orange starts with great tasting oranges and ends with great tasting orange juice, so it tastes the way Nature intended – never with any added preservatives, colors or artificial flavors. I made sure to grab a bottle along with my bread and produce while I was doing some holiday grocery shopping at Albertsons.
Served with a cold glass of orange juice, this French Toast BLT sets a new standard for holiday brunch.
