This lil’ momma is starting to nest (I think). Yesterday, I scrubbed walls, doors, cabinets, corners, and everywhere in between. I also started put together my Amazon Baby Registry (yikes!), which I think means ‘it’s getting real’. In the midst of gasping at the prices of bassinets and nursery decor, I did some Pinterest searches on DIY Nursery Decor Crafts. As usual, a number of super talented bloggers blew me away with their cheaper-than-department-store ideas.
I am more than ready to get this baby’s room set up, so I cashed out my iBotta Earnings as an Amazon Gift card, and started shopping for craft stuff. Let me note two things. 1). I love iBotta and the fact that I was able to cash out a $50 Amazon Gift Card, sent straight to my email just for doing my regular shopping at my favorite stores. 2). I’m not normally the craftiest person in the world, but hey, pregnancy brings out a little something special in everyone.
So, with tissue paper, a roll of fake pearls, faux hydrangeas, a distressed paint kit, and more crafty items that Chris is going to roll his eyes at, in my cart, I checked out with a giant smile. In a few days, my house will turn into Martha Stewart’s studio, and I will be using a hot glue gun like most teenagers use their boyfriends and girlfriends.
What am I planning to make? Oh, the ideas are endless.

I saw one of these on Instagram for the first time a few months ago and fell in love… until I saw the boutique store price of about $600! Ya, not that cute. So, I decided to look into making my own. Christina from The DIY Mommy found her yarn for $10 a skein, which is a steal! But even with the Merino Wool listed on Amazon at about $40/lb, is a steal for one of these HUGE and Gorgeous Arm Knit blankets. Plus, check out the awesome features of real Merino Wool.

Big block letters are totally in style right now, and I get it! I think they are adorable. Baby O is going to have a lot of “O’s” in her room if it’s left up to me. I really love this idea because it’s a simple, afternoon craft that turns out amazingly cute and eye-catching.

**You could replace the flowers with buttons, craft sports stickers, or small toy cars for a boy.
7). Painted Mason Jar Vases
Sooo this is specifically for the baby’s room, but for a little girl it would make great decor. I love the antiqued finish and that you can use faux flowers and have beautiful floral decor all year long. I picked up hydrangeas because we have a purple theme going on, and they are classy. Plus, this is a cheap and quick craft!

8). DIY Cloud Bookshelf Ledges
This one is going to take a little more time than the mason jars or the pom poms. It also requires a few power tools. But the end result is totally worth it. Feel free to customize, add lettering or more colors.
