Oh you guys, I have a bit of a confession.
2017 hasn’t quite been as smooth as I thought it would be. Between having a new baby, raising a three-year-old teenager, and starting up a second blog, I’ve been pretty overwhelmed. My health has taken a bit of a hit as a result. I haven’t been devouring entire bags of potato chips or guzzling entire cases of soda, but I certainly haven’t been eating the way I should be.
I partially blame this on everything that’s going on, and partially on the fact that I have an immeasurable sweet tooth. For real, though; if I could live healthily on candy, these brownies, and birthday cake, I would. Hence, this birthday cake protein shake.
I recently found a food product that I was certain would be a new staple in my pantry. Imagine my disappointment when the ‘cake batter’ flavored powder was not quite so cake battery, and much more…. ick. But, I’m exceptionally cheap and I refuse to throw brand new products away. So, like crafters, I gave this not so palatable substance a new and beautiful purpose. And voila, it worked!
Cold Stone Creamery Birthday Cake Remix may not be fabulous on its own, but for this shake, it’s worth the purchase. I plan to keep this shake as part of my regular rotation, so I guess I’ll be buying more.
This shake is tasty and it contains 25g of protein. Add some food coloring and some sprinkles, and you can have your cake and eat it too.
I have used a lot of different protein powders. My favorites are Gold Standard Vanilla, and Orgain Vanilla. If you can’t find the Cold Stone Creamery Birthday Cake Remix or don’t want to order it, you can go the easier route and buy Birthday Cake Protein Powder.
Do you drink protein shakes for breakfast every morning or after your workout, or do you only drink them occasionally? What’s your favorite flavor? Let me know in the comments below.
